English Certification for Pilots
AELP Test Online - Aviation English Language Proficiency
The online AELP Test is oral and is conducted by an Examiner (Rater), a test for the certification of knowledge of the English language and the evaluation of the written and oral skills of non-English native speaking personnel, the so-called "Language Proficiency Requirements", pursuant to ICAO regulations and European and national regulations.
The duration of the exam is approximately 25-30 minutes (like various other ICAO exams in the world) but it focuses more on the communication skills aspect and language understanding in the aeronautical sector.
The cost of the Test is € 200,00 all inclusive.

AFAN “Aviation English Language Proficiency” online exam model
Evaluates knowledge and understanding of the English language both from a generic and an aeronautical point of view, through:
-
Series of introductory questions - The questions are asked to establish general knowledge of the language.
-
Messages - As in various tests currently on the market, the AFAN test offers 10 messages. During the test the candidate must listen to them and then repeat/interpret/explain.
-
Give advice - Questions are asked to establish understanding with a request to give instructions on what to do. This part is the one that is based on the Cambridge standards, which are the basis for the ICAO levels.
-
Photos - Subsequently, the candidate must answer questions regarding photos (specifically 2 photos which are shown separately) which describe situations that can occur in the aeronautical sector. Based on the type of photo, the candidate will then have to answer some more operational questions.

Conclusion
The AELP test assesses real knowledge of Aviation English.
It is the certification that allows the candidate, especially in the online version, to interface in an Aviation English context in a much more flexible, agile and immediate way. Logistics nowadays becomes the real wall that is sometimes insurmountable to get results at hand with costs way above the market in the cost/benefit balance.
Computer protection today allows levels of Security unimaginable just a few years ago. Online allows anyone to connect from the 4 quarters of the globe with negligible costs, if any, finally and definitively opening that market that only the English Language can allow.
